If you’re flying to Disneyland Resort, you'll need to choose between Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and John Wayne Airport, Orange County (SNA). SNA is closer but served by fewer flights. LAX is farther but one of the busiest airports in the world.
Other Air Ports
Heart's Desire Adventures does not make Airfare Reservations.
Airport shuttles are still an excellent form of inexpensive and convenient transportation.
Disneyland shuttles are cheaper and spacious – you can typically bring two entire bags per person. A shared shuttle for three people will cost $60.
Although this price is close to the smallest Uber or Lyft prices, you won’t be cramped into a tiny sedan with your luggage.
If a Disneyland shuttle doesn’t seem
worth it and you’re willing to shell out a little more cash, you might consider renting a car during your trip. The price of renting a car for one day could be just as much as using a ride share service to get to your hotel in Anaheim. If you plan to visit other sights in Los Angeles or stay for a few days, renting a car is cheaper than buying multiple taxis or Uber/Lyft rides.
Although you’ll have to account for the hefty price of parking at Disneyland hotels or at the theme park, it might be worth it. It’s also much easier to rent a car when taking a family vacation with kids. Car rentals can be found on Turo or a variety of other car rental websites. Make sure to browse around to find the best prices!
If you want a cheap Uber, LAX to Disneyland is not the route to find an inexpensive ride. The only way to maybe pay under $60 is if your group has fewer than four people and your luggage can fit in the small sedan trunk. Otherwise, you’ll need to request a larger car for $90 or more. Uber and Lyft prices depend on the time and day. At busy times, a larger car can cost over $100 and still only holds six people.
ART connects you to Anaheim hotels, theme parks, restaurants, shopping, dining, and other destinations within the resort area. This includes Anaheim, Garden Grove, Buena Park, Costa Mesa and Orange. Their buses run 7 days a week. Service typically begins one hour before the Disneyland Resort opens and continues until 30 minutes after close. You can see daily schedules and route times on the ART website. If you buy online, they’ll deliver your pass free to your Anaheim hotel (make sure to buy it at least three days in advance).
Overall, there are many ways to get to Disneyland from the airport. While public transportation will be your absolute cheapest option, you might prefer a Disneyland shuttle to save time. It’s typically the cheapest option when it comes to ride services. In addition, there are plenty of transportation services to get you around Disneyland and nearby areas.

There are a variety of hotels that partner with Disney in some fashion (e.g. "good neighbor" hotels) and many that are nearby but don’t partner with Disney. For most people, location, room, and cost are the big factors in deciding where to stay. Let me do the research for you and I'll find you the best hotel for the best price.
If this is your first trip to Disneyland, get park hopper. The reason is simple: you won’t know what park you or your kids prefer in advance. If you have very small children and will be catering entirely to them, then one-park-per-day tickets could work (because you'll easily prefer Disneyland Park). Otherwise, it’s best to see where the wind takes you, the parks are only about a minute apart, walking.
The first thing you're going to want to do is make sure you have the Disneyland app downloaded on your phone. When you open up the app you'll see your home screen and in the bottom right hand corner you're going to see three horizontal lines, you're going to click on that; that's the first step. Then in the top left that first box says tickets and passes, click on that then at the top right hand corner is a little plus sign, go ahead and tap that, then a little drop down menu will appear that says buy tickets or link tickets and passes, click on link tickets and passes. After you've done that there will be two options two different ways to link you tickets. You can either open up the camera and you will just scan your ticket so make sure you have either printed the ticket or have a picture of it on another device so that you can scan it on your phone or the other option is you can type in the ID, you'll find the ID number when you get your confirmation email after purchase. it will have numbers on there and you can type those numbers in. Don't worry about the Tap option in the middle, because that's only for magic bands. you can't use that option to link your tickets. Now your set! Hit the back arrow in the top left corner to go back to tickets and passes and your ticket will be there and you'll be ready to get into Disneyland!
Disney’s Genie+ service was introduced in December of 2021 to replace the discontinued Disney FASTPASS® service that was previously offered.
Purchasing the Genie+ service gives you the ability to book Lightning Lanes, which essentially let you skip the standby line. Nearly all attractions at the Disney Theme Parks have a Lightning Lane.
Genie+ can be purchased in advance with your park tickets/vacation package, or after you enter the Theme Park on the day of your visit (if available). The cost is currently $25 per person per day.
Once you have purchased Genie+ for the day, you may make your first Lightning Lane selection upon entering the Theme Park. Your next selection can be made after redeeming your current selection, or 2 hours after you made your last selection, whichever comes first. You can make Lightning Lane selections all day long until the park closes or availability runs out.
Purchasing Genie+ is highly recommended, but it is not mandatory and you may still utilize the standby queues at most attractions.
See list below of current attractions included with Genie+.
Also known as an ILL, these are not included with Genie+. These attractions are considered the newest or most popular attractions in each park. To utilize the Lightning Lanes for these attractions, you must make a separate purchase ranging between $7 and $25 per person per ride. You can book up to two (2) ILL’s per day, but you may not purchase the same ride twice on the same day.
Purchasing an ILL is not mandatory to ride. You may still utilize the attractions standby line or Virtual Queue (if offered).
