Back in 1995, the California Grill at Disney’s Contemporary Resort opened. This is a signature restaurant atop the 15th floor of the Contemporary. The California Grill is one of the most popular in all of Walt Disney World because it sits on the top story of the building which means you get an incredible view of Magic Kingdom and and incredible view of the fireworks! It's very expensive and currently has a prefixed menu in the main dinning room which means you have to do the three course prefix meal $89.00 per person. But not everyone realizes you can eat a the bar lounge with no reservations! Seating 16 seats is a first come first serve only and you can order that prefix meal or you can order off of their lounge bites or appetizer menu. NOTE: if you're sitting in the restaurant each person has their own prefix meal but however only at the lounge seats can you split the meal; so you could do a three course California Grill for $45.00 per person or the lounge has it's own menu if you just want to have a couple of light appetizers. They open at 5pm so get there early for your seats! The fireworks aren't until 8pm so as long as you have a receipt you can go back about 15min before the fireworks or so and you still get to go out on the rooftop and watch the fireworks! FUN FACT! On the second floor in the ballroom of the Americas. A very important moment in United States history happened inside those walls. President Richard Nixon's I'm not a crook speech literally happened in there!
